New CFA Officer
Mike Maiorino has joined the CFA Management Committee as a vice president. He is
president of Sovereign Business Capital (a
division of Sovereign Bank) which includes
Asset Based Lending, Commercial Finance,
Precious Metals Lending, Franchise
Finance, and Small Cap Mortgage Warehouse Lending.
Prior to joining Sovereign, he was
president of the Business Finance Division
of Fleet Capital Corp., currently Bank of
America Business Capital. He has been
involved in all aspects of asset-based lending over a span of 30 years in banking.
Maiorino has been asked to address
a variety of different trade and industry
associations over the years and has written numerous articles and been featured
in many other articles covering topics
ranging from all aspects of asset-based
financing to the economy.
New CFA Executive
Lawrence D. Allen, Jr.
Larry Allen is president of M&F Business
Credit, Inc., Memphis, TN, which he founded in 2003. He has 34 years of experience in
the asset-based financial services industry.
He graduated from the University of North
Carolina with a B. A. in business administration and obtained an Associate of Arts
in pre-law from Wingate University. Allen
is a Certified Lender of Business Banking
and a member of several professional
organizations, including the Risk Management Association, Turnaround Management Association and the Institute of
John M. DePledge
John M. DePledge is senior vice president,
team leader – ABL of TD Bank, N. A. He
has been charged with establishing and
growing the business in the organization’s
metro Philadelphia and New York markets.
Prior to his work at TD Bank, he most
recently worked for 11 years at LaSalle
Business Credit (f/k/a Mellon Business
Credit) in Philadelphia and New York and
was instrumental in establishing their Los
Angeles office. DePledge also is a member
of a number of professional organizations,
most notably having served as president
of CFA’s Philadelphia Chapter in 2003 and
2004, a member of the CFA’s Chapter Focus
Committee in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and
chairman of CFA’s Chapter Focus Committee in 2008. As a member of CFA’s Executive
Committee in 2009, DePledge would like
to participate in developing strategies
to continue to distinguish the CFA as the
world-class organization for the secured
David Grende is the chief executive officer
of Burdale Capital Finance, Inc. headquartered in Stamford, CT. Burdale provides
senior secured asset-based financing for
middle-market companies undergoing
change. Prior to starting the Burdale business in the U.S., Grende was a managing
director in Corporate Restructuring at
Huron Consulting Group for six years. In
that role he was involved, as a financial advisor, in major U.S. bankruptcy cases. Prior
to Huron, Grende spent 25 years of his
professional career in asset-based lending
as managing director at Bank of America
Commercial Funding Division, a de novo
effort, and prior to that as executive vice
president at CIT Group/Credit Finance.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from City College of New York and
is a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring
Jeremy Harrison heads up the Lloyds TSB
Commercial Finance New York Group.
Harrison has been with Lloyds since
2003, having been previously with GMAC
and GE, and has some 25 years’ experience
in corporate finance, of which the last 10
have been in ABL from portfolio manager
role to country director. Prior to moving
to New York in 2006, he set up Commercial
Finances’ Dublin office, and before that
was responsible for portfolio management for some of Commercial Finances’
larger UK clients.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in Business
Studies and, whilst based in New York, is
charged with developing Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance’ US ABL Group.
Glenn T. Noble
Glenn Noble currently serves as vice
president at Wells Fargo Business Credit,
Government Services Group. Prior to Wells
Fargo, he served as executive vice president of Commerce Funding Corporation.
He has been involved in the commercial
finance industry for 14 years.
He is a graduate of the University of
Maryland with a degree in finance. He has
served in a variety of leadership roles in
the CFA Baltimore-Washington Chapter.
Debra Wilson is the senior vice president of Vertex Financial, Ltd, where she
manages all aspects of the company. She
has worked in the commercial finance
industry for 28 years, holding progressively more responsible positions with five
Wilson authored the “Factoring Operations Manual” which is being utilized by
numerous factors throughout the U.S.
Jill A.G. Zellmer
Jill A.G. Zellmer is the senior managing
director and general counsel for GE Commercial Finance, Corporate Lending. She
joined GE in 1996 and has held various
leadership positions within Commercial
Finance. Prior to joining GE, she was in
private practice at Weil, Gotshal & Manges
LLP, specializing in corporate and securities law with an emphasis on corporate restructurings and finance matters. Zellmer
received an A.B. from Barnard College,
Columbia University, and a J.D. from The
Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
