This year, the Atlanta Chapter began its 2010
networking calendar with a special night of
comedy. On March 11, the Chapter kicked-off 2010 with nationally known humorist
and stand-up comedian, Jerry Farber. Farber
is, and has been, one of Atlanta’s most
recognizable and acclaimed entertainers
for two decades. He has appeared on David
Letterman, and performed at several well-known comedy clubs across the country.
The event was held at The Westin Atlanta
North at Perimeter.
The Annual Golf Tournament will be held
on April 26 at the Pacific Palms Conference
Resort in Industry Hills, CA. Save the date
for the Annual Networking Event on June 9.
The Chapter’s second lunch meeting of
the year was held on March 23. Members
were treated to a great lunch and an
interesting presentation from speaker,
Thomas V. Kennedy, of Kennedy Moran
Associates in New York. Kennedy spoke
about credit analysis and how it relates
to the ABL and factoring industries.
The Midsouth Chapter and The Birmingham Venture Club held a Networking and
Panel Discussion on March 11. The program
was titled, “The Second Oldest Profession:
Who is Going to Get Bought, Sold, and Lent
To in 2010.” The event was held at the offices of Burr & Forman in Birmingham, AL.
On March 11, the Midwest Chapter held its
St. Patrick’s Day- themed event at the Union
League Club in Chicago. The event fea-
tured a panel discussion on lending to the
automotive supply industry in a program
entitled Auto Industry Forum…Is There a Pot
o’ Gold at the End of the Rainbow? A recep-
tion followed the panel discussion.
On February 25, the New England Chapter
held a program as part of its ongoing
breakfast seminar series. This education
program featured an interactive learning
seminar which is ideally suited for credit
and business analysts as well as loan officers of all levels. February’s seminar was
entitled Need a Consultant? What’s Best
for the Lender and Customer and was
presented by Lee Diercks of Clear Thinking
Group. The event was held at Brigham
Room at Citizens Bank, Boston.
The Chapter held its annual March Madness Event on March 18 at Texas Arizona in
On April 6 the Chapter will be holding
its first Career Day at the offices of Sills
Cummis & Gross in Newark, NJ. Recruiters will be on hand to speak about current market conditions for commercial
finance positions. This is a free event;
however, you must pre-register.
