On May 14, the Chapter held a luncheon event with speaker Angie
Weeks, CFO of Cal Coast Web Design,
who spoke about Boosting Business
with LinkedIn. This interactive event
was held at CIT Commercial Services in
Los Angeles, CA and discussed ways to
increase visibility, business relationships and the bottom line.
On June 5, the Chapter held its Annual
BBQ at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, CA.
Save the date for the Chapter’s
Presidents Panel, which will be held at
Shutters on The Beach in Santa Monica,
CA, on September 11.
On July 30, the Chapter will host its Annual CFA South Florida & TMA Night at
the Marlins at Miami Marlins Ballpark.
On August 15, the Chapter will host its
Annual CFA Florida Member Appreciation Cocktail Reception. Please check the

On April 23, the Chapter held its
“Prowling with the Predators” event and
watched as the Nashville Predators took
on the Calgary Flames at Bridgestone
Arena in Nashville, TN.
On April 25, the Midwest Chapter held
its educational event, “Dispelling the
Myth of Access to Capital for Small
and Middle-Market Businesses” at The
Standard Club in Chicago. The presenta-
tion focused on learning about financing
companies that can complement bank
lending to assist in getting deals done.
The panel consisted of major players in
the U.S. Small Business Administration
7(a) and 504 arenas (as well as other alternative lending sources) that can offer
supplemental financing while allowing
a bank to retain its relationship with

Cubs Outing was held on June 13, with
a pre-game party at The Cubby Bear,
The Chapter’s 24th Annual Golf
Invitational will once again be held at
the Geneva National Golf Club in Lake
Geneva, WI on July 30. A reception and
dinner will start at 4: 30 p.m.

underwriting manager of Wells Fargo
Capital Finance, who discussed the
“Anatomy of an Underwriting”
Later that same day, the Chapter’s
Cocktail and Networking Reception was
held at the Carolina Ale House.
The Chapter’s Monthly Meeting
on June 25 at the Palm Restaurant in
Charlotte featured Guest Speaker Linda
Stanley of Bank of America.
The Chapter’s Annual Golf Outing will
be held at the Verdict Ridge Country
Club in Denver, NC on September 19.
